Beginning Monday, February 7th, we will open our doors on a new Outreach Ministry – a ‘soup kitchen.’ We hope to help families, seniors and singles in need of a good hot meal and fellowship. The meal will be served from 5:30 – 7:30pm every Monday night. There is such a great need in our community with lay-offs, joblessness and the slow
economic situation in Haywood County. Our church family is so blessed and we want to help others. There
are those in our area who go to bed without supper. Would you like to help by submitting a name for
the ‘Meal on Monday?’ If you would like to fix a dessert, help cook or serve the meal, please call Judi Ferris at 734-0156

This is a great mission for our church. In 2008 we donated over $2000 and in 2009 over $2800! Many of our families have someone fighting cancer or someone who is a survivor. The North Carolina United Methodist ministry in Armenia supports two children’s homes with shoebox gifts. The boxes for project AGAPE are due in October and the ones for Samaritan’s Purse in November. Will you please add sippy cups, baby rattle, bib or baby blanket to one of your shopping lists this month? Items may be left at the Church office anytime. Thank you!
