Project AGAPE Boxes

As a part of Western North Carolina missions, MVUMC collects gifts and supplies for children in Armenia.  Each year, a child in need receives a box full of delightful and needed items.  We keep a collection box in the front foyer of the church, so you may drop off donations at any time.

We could use your help collecting items for these boxes!  Please add small toys to one of your shopping lists.  Needed especially:  $5.00 per shoebox for shipping.

Project AGAPE is a joint-ministry venture of the Western and North Carolina Conferences of the United Methodist Church.  Project AGAPE’s Director Nara Melkonyan has spoken with a group here at MVUMC.  She told of the great need for our shoe boxes and answered questions about this joint mission project with the Armenian Apostolic Church in Armenia.  All kinds of GREAT shoe box items will be collected throughout the year.  Here is the list of some things that are needed:

AGAPE Shoeboxes Request List for 2019

$5.00 per box for postage and pencil sharpeners (which are not easy to find!) are needed any time!  Small dolls, matchbox or toy cars, caps or toboggans, mittens or gloves, Toy trucks, small plastic animals, coloring books, small picture or board books, Hairbands, clips or bows, toothbrushes, floss, combs, brushes, small mirrors, Small stuffed animals, balls, small picture frames, stickers, necklaces & bracelets, Socks, t-shirts, hats, underwear, small tool set, wash cloths, journal or notepad, Pencil sharpeners, markers, pencils, notebook paper, crayons, notepads, Erasers, rulers, notebooks, colored pencils, soft or plastic toys of any type, and Plastic shoeboxes.  Packing shoeboxes will be held in the Fellowship Hall before and after Church and between Services on Sunday, September 22nd.  Please plan to pack a box!
