Maggie United Methodist Church has a long standing tradition of hospitality and friendliness. We welcome all visitors with open arms and encourage you to keep in touch even if you’re only here for a few days or months!
While we believe that every day is a day to worship God, we gather at least once a week to worship and fellowship with others.
- Worship @ 11am
- Early Worship @ 8:30am (2nd Sunday in June – early October)
What to Expect
Our worship services draw upon the tradition of the United Methodist Church, but with the personality of a mountain family church. We sing hymns from our traditional United Methodist Hymnal and also the Faith We Sing Hymnal, and enjoy praising God with beloved songs of worship as well as more modern songs. We follow an “order of worship,” found printed in the weekly bulletin and also provide large print bulletins and assisted listening devices.
How Will I Know Where to Go?
There are helpful ushers and greeters at each of the main doors to our sanctuary. If you’re not sure where to go, just ask the first person you see and they’ll point you in the right direction.
What to Wear
While you’re welcome to come in your Sunday finest, it’s definitely not necessary. We welcome everyone!
Is There a Place for my Children?
We offer Children’s Church and Nursery every Sunday! Children’s classes meet in the children’s wing off the Fellowship Hall. From the parking lot, enter up the steps through the single door or down the ramp from the sanctuary and through the double glass doors.
Our infant through toddler nursery is offered until 12:15pm for children infant through 3 years old. The nursery is located in the Children’s wing. It is the first room on the right when entering from the parking lot, or the last room on the left if coming from inside the church.
Children’s Church is offered after the Children’s Time in Worship. These children will leave the sanctuary with the Children’s Church Volunteer and go to the Fellowship Hall for snack and then to the classroom for lesson time. Children 4, 5 and 6 are encouraged to participate!
Older children are welcome to worship with their parents.
New Member Class
New Member Classes are held regularly. Those wishing to become a member of the church should speak to Pastor Ann or contact her by calling the church office at 828/926-8036 or emailing email@example.com.
For children and youth, a Confirmation Class is held annually at the discretion of the pastor. This class is usually held over a period of several weeks and includes instruction on church history, beliefs and principles of The United Methodist Church and is in a format that is more appropriate to children and youth ages 11-18. If you or your child is interested in participating in a Confirmation Class, please contact the church office at 828/926-8036.
