Service to our community and beyond is a calling that we take seriously. We believe that service should be a natural outcome of our relationship with God, so we have several opportunities available. If you would like to help with one of these programs, or if you have an idea for other opportunities, please contact the church office (828) 926-8036.
- Angel Food Ministry is a ministry of our church that distributes top quality food, from major producers throughout the contry, to assist with day-to-day grocery needs.
Learn More > - First Wednesday at the Open Door involves serving the noon-day meal at the Open Door Ministry. Volutneers are needed to cook, serve, and clean up after the meal. The Open Door is a Christian ministry that feeds the hungry seven days a week using volunteers. They are located on Commerce Street in the Frog Level section of Waynesville. If you want to participate, look for the announcement in the bulletin and then “sign up”. For more information, please call Bill Chamberlin at 926-3478.
- The Community Outreach Program helps disabled and elderly persons in our community who may need a meal, visit, or other aid. To volunteer for this program, call 828-926-0662 or email info@maggieumc.org.
- Food Pantry Collection - The church collects canned goods and other non-perishable food items to replenish the food pantry. If you feel led, bring your donations to the church office.
- Maggie UMC is involved in mission projects throughout the year including a service project to West Virginia to provide food, clothing, and Christmas gifts to a needy community and service projects to Wyoming and Biloxi to help with building projects.
- The Lending Closet provides wheel chairs, crutches and other health aid items to those in the community who need them. To get involved with this ministry call 828-926-3423 or email info@maggieumc.org.
