West Virginia Mission

The West Virginia Christmas Celebration and “Food Drop” occurs annually the first week in December. Starting after Thanksgiving, the Church begins collecting canned goods, financial donations, and Christmas gifts for the children and families in Kimball, West Virginia and surrounding areas.

The first week in December, we load up a moving truck with food, supplies, gifts, and decorations and head up to The Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Bank in Kimball where the celebration is hosted. Once we arrive early in the morning we begin decorating a large warehouse with Christmas decorations, and by the time we’re through, the place looks like a winter wonderland.

Families begin arriving around noon and we all have lunch together. Following lunch, children play games and do crafts while parents and relatives load up with food including staples and a Christmas dinner, gifts for the children, and clothes. Families can have their photo takend, and sometimes Santa pays a visit!
