West Virginia Mission Trip

Maggie Valley UMC will take its annual mission trip to Kimball, West Virginia on Dec. 12-13. Each year a group goes to bring food, gifts and a wonderful Christmas celebration to the Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Bank located in one of the economically hardest-hit areas of our nation. Here’s how you can help:

  • Volunteer to help with craft projects for the children and youth. Please contact Jennifer Adams at 828-734-2101 or jennifer@starksfinancial.com.
  • Donate new Christmas decorations to decorate the food bank warehouse
  • Donate canned goods and/or blankets for families in need
  • Make a financial contribution to help buy food in bulk for the food bank (which runs solely on private donations) to distribute.

Charge Conference

Our Charge Conference, the annual meeting of the church to review the past year and make decisions about the coming year, will be held Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Administrative board members are encouraged to attend. All are welcome to attend.

All-Faith, Community-Wide Free Thanksgiving Dinner

Everyone is invited to this wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. It will be held at Maggie Valley United Methodist Church from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27.

Trunk-or-Treat

You and all community Children and Youth are invited to our Fall Festival & Trunk or Treat Party! A Costume party will be held in the church parking lot and Fellowship Hall on Thursday, October 30th from 6-7:30pm rain or shine. A hot dog supper will be provided as well as games, fun, and candy!

October is Clergy Appreciation Month

Clergy Appreciation Month is a special time that congregations set aside each year to honor their pastors and pastoral families for the hard work, sacrificial dedication and multiple blessings provided by these special people.

It is also important to remember that appreciation, affirmation and prayer support of our spiritual leaders is
appropriate throughout the entire year.

May God bless Rev. Richard and Rev. Erma and their families!

Attention Bakers, Jammers, and Crafters!

The Service Committee is seeking your skills and talents and maybe a little of your time! We will have a  fundraiser for Missions on October 18th – 19th as part of the Craft Festival in Maggie Valley.
