Erma Bond is the retired Associate Pastor of Maggie Valley UMC. Erma grew up in Maggie Valley and returned in 1996 and became the associate pastor. She has served faithfully for over twenty years overseeing many missions and ministries. Erma is indeed a pastor to the whole community.
Gene and Shirley Saxton are our church custodians. They care for our church grounds, including the park land on the other side of Jonathan Creek.
The Missions at Maggie Valley United Methodist Church always need more helpers! If you can welcome guests, cook a meal, take out trash, clean up a room, wash dishes, organize food, pack a shoebox or have any other talents or gifts you’d like to share, come join us! We will help you find a way to serve within your ability and comfort level. Contact the Pastor or the church office (828-926-8036) for more information.
In September, we usually send Christmas shoeboxes through Project AGAPE to impoverished children in the eastern European area of Armenia, some of our most desperate Christian brothers and sisters. Project AGAPE is a collaborative effort of North Carolina United Methodists with the Armenian Apostolic Church. You may make donations of items to help fill the boxes in the Church foyer anytime. This event has been postponed for 2021. We hope to be back making plans to pack shoeboxes in 2022!
MVUMC will be helping out at the Open Door when we are able.
Check with Shirley Saxton or Pastor Cole for details or call the church office at 828-926-8036.
