The Todd and Ruth Henry Park

The Todd and Ruth Henry Park

Open dawn to dusk, the Todd and Ruth Henry Park is one of our congregation’s best kept secrets. Take a quiet walk and restore your spirit. Todd and Ruth Henry donated this and other land to Maggie Valley UMC.  We also use this area for various events through the year, including outdoor Worship and our children’s Easter Egg Hunt.

Drive through our parking lot, cross the one-lane bridge over Jonathan Creek and discover an old barn, cookout shelter, walking trail, and open field – a wonderful, quiet place to relax. Dogs are welcome.  Please clean up after your pet!

Hiking Group

Hiking Group

“In God’s Creation” Hiking Group enjoys checking out the local mountain trails, creeks, and waterfall hikes.  The group has done many hikes out in our beautiful mountains.

The group will meet at the church at 2pm on Tuesday, September 26th, to take the Church van to Cataloochee Valley to hile, picnic and see the elk.  This will be an nice time in the National Park.  Please bring a side dish to share.  You will also need a blanket or folding chair, water and rain gear.  There is a sign-up sheet at the side entrance of the church.

Covered Dish Meal

Covered Dish Meal

There is nothing like a Maggie Valley United Methodist Covered Dish Meal!  We hold them throughout the year and everyone who has an appetite is welcome!

There will be a Love Feast on Valentines Day!  We will gather in the Fellowship Hall on February 14th at 5:30.  You are welcome to bring a dish to share with others.  Our Pre-school families will be invited to this evening!

On previous Thanksgiving Days, Maggie Valley churches have come together to serve a Community Thanksgiving Meal.

And in past years our congregation has hosted a Gospel Fest with BBQ at our barn in the Todd & Ruth Henry Park across Jonathan Creek.  All of the proceeds supported missions.
