Volunteer with Us!

The Missions at Maggie Valley United Methodist Church always need more helpers!

If you can welcome guests, cook a meal, take out trash, clean up a room, wash dishes, organize food, sort clothing or have any other talents or gifts you’d like to share, come join us!

We will help you find a way to serve within your ability and comfort level.  Contact the Pastor (kcrissman@wnccumc.net) or the church office (828-926-8036) for more information.

Shepherds Table

Shepherds Table

A delicious meal delivered by a friend is one of the best gifts imaginable!  MVUMC operates the Shepherds Table on Mondays.  Volunteers come early on Monday and stay all day to organize, prepare, create, cook, portion out and deliver meals to individuals and families in our community.  Steve Mehaffey is the Manager of the Shepherds Table Ministry.

The Shepherds Table Ministry offers free dinner meal delivery on Mondays. We serve families, seniors, and singles in need of a good meal and a visit.  We also collect food on Monday mornings from Publix in Waynesville. *Please note*  When Haywood County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Church Office, Shepherd’s Table and Food Pantry will all be closed.

Financial gifts may be given, but are not required. We love help preparing, cooking, serving, and cleaning.

We gratefully thank all of those who do dontate to this Food Ministry and special thanks to Manna Food Bank and others for the contributions we are able to use for our meals.

We are deeply grateful for the funding provided for our Food Ministries from The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, the Haywood Health Foundation and the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation.  To learn more about these incredible organizations, please click on links above.

Food Pantry

Food Pantry

Our Church Food Pantry operates on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am until noon.  Individuals are able to come to use the Pantry every other week. Self-Declaration of Need and Nondiscrimination Statement can be found here.

*Please note*  When Haywood County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Church Office, Shepherd’s Table and Food Pantry will all be closed.

If you would like to donate food, cans or packets of food and personal hygiene items are always appreciated!  Many individuals and families use this mission each week!  Gail England is the Food Pantry Manager.

We always need help unloading food from Manna Foodbank and volunteers help put the food up when it arrives at the church. Thanks to Manna Foodbank and Publix for their donations!
