Worship at Maggie Valley United Methodist Church

Maggie Valley is a great small Town!   We have a close knit community of residents and we welcome all visitors!
Maggie Valley United Methodist Church, the oldest church in this beautiful valley, bursts with life!  Our church regularly fills with friends old and new.
Please note!

At this time, we have made adjustments to our regular events at MVUMC due to COVID-19.  We are currently holding Drive-In Church at 10am. Please check our Facebook page for live streams and updates and call the Church office if you have questions (828-926-8036).

Here is the recommendation from Haywood County per the Governor’s Executive Order:

Memo- Community and Faith Based Organizations

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Haywood County Public Health recommends that organizers of events that draw more than 100 people cancel, postpone, or modify these events, or offer online streaming services beginning March 13, 2020, until further notice. These events include large gatherings where people are in close contact (less than 6 feet), such as concerts, conferences, sporting events, faith-based events and other large gatherings.

Worship is the single most important ministry in our church.

* postponed at this time 9:00am Worship – May through October

A more intimate service in our sanctuary featuring music, scripture and sermon each week. The service lasts under an hour.

*postponed at this time 11:00am Worship – Traditional Service

The traditional worship service in our sanctuary features the full choir, music, scripture, hymns, and a sermon. This is typically the larger service and is held all year. Holy Communion is the first Sunday each month and lasts about one hour long. Over 150 people worship with us each week during the warmer months.

The sermon is the same at both 9:00am and 11:00am.

Join us for worship!

Worship Style

We are a mainline, United Methodist congregation that observes a traditional pattern of worship and the Christian Year.

We have a simple worship bulletin that includes acts of worship. We pray The Lord’s Prayer, listen to a choir anthem, sing hymns from The United Methodist Hymnal, read Scripture, hear great preaching, and celebrate Holy Communion regularly.

Come as you are to worship. Some men wear coats and ties and women dresses. Other people wear their vacation clothes. Campers show up often. We welcome everyone!

Enter any door of the church and you’ll find your way into our lovely and historic stone and wood sanctuary. Ushers will give a bulletin to you. Pick up a visitor packet with more information about our congregation.

Our Pastor and occasionally guests, preach every Sunday. Based on Scripture, the sermons apply the Word of God to our everyday lives.

Contact our Pastor to talk about baptisms, confirmations, weddings or funerals.

  • Please Note - We have made adjustments to our regular Worship schedule due to COVID-19.  Currently, we are holding Drive-In Church on Sunday at 10am.  Call the office or check the Facebook page for updates!
