Worship at Maggie Valley United Methodist Church
Maggie Valley comes alive after winter. Bears come out of hibernation. Summer residents return. Tourists arrive. Ghost Town may open (or maybe not)!
Maggie Valley United Methodist Church, the oldest church in this beautiful valley, bursts with new life. Our sanctuary fills with friends old and new.
Worship is the single most important ministry in our church.
HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE:

9:00am Worship – A Service of Word & Table **Begins May 19th**
A more intimate service in our sanctuary featuring music, scripture, sermon, and Holy Communion each week. The service lasts under an hour.
11:00am Worship – Traditional Service
The traditional worship service features the full choir, music, scripture, hymns, and a sermon. This is typically the larger service and is held all year. Holy Communion is the first Sunday each month and lasts about one hour long. Over 150 people worship with us each week during the warmer months.
The sermon is the same at both 9:00am and 11:00am.
Join us for worship!
We are a mainline, United Methodist congregation that observes a traditional pattern of worship and the Christian Year.
We have a simple worship bulletin that includes acts of worship. We pray The Lord’s Prayer, listen to a choir anthem, sing hymns from The United Methodist Hymnal, read Scripture, hear great preaching, and celebrate Holy Communion regularly.
Come as you are to worship. Some men wear coats and ties and women dresses. Other people wear their vacation clothes. Campers show up often. We welcome everyone.
Enter any door of the church and you’ll find your way into our lovely and historic stone and wood sanctuary. Ushers will hand you a bulletin. Pick up a visitor packet with more information about our congregation.
Pastor Ann and occasional guests preach ever Sunday. Based on Scripture, the sermons apply the Word of God to our everyday lives for 15-20 minutes.
Sermons sometimes follow the Scriptures for the church year. Sometimes Pastor Ann preaches a sermon series like the 2019 twenty-two summer sermons series “The Old Testament: The Greatest Stories.”
Contact (from the menu above) Pastor Ann Duncan to talk about baptisms, confirmations, weddings, and funerals.
